ABOUT US
Started by John D. Eggan, Jr. in 1959 as a small excavating company, Eggan Excavating has grown into one of the premier environmental companies in central New York today. After John Eggan, Jr. retired in 2003, his sons, Douglas and Mark, took over the operation, maintaining John Jr.’s high standards of excellence in customer service.
Douglas E. Eggan - President - Co-owner
Douglas has over 30 years experience in sewage treatment plant operation, hauling and handling industrial and hazardous waste. He is trained in confined space entry and emergency response procedures. He is certified, licensed and trained in the operation of all equipment maintained by Eggan. Douglas maintains daily operational control and site management.
Mark A. Eggan - Vice President - Co-owner
Mark has over 30 years experience in septic system operation and maintenance. He is certified, licensed and trained in the operation of all equipment maintained by Eggan. Mark is the lead member of our Emergency Response Team. He maintains on site and supervisory control of all spills from inception to the final report.
Steven Cox
Steven has over 20 years experience in the operation and driving of vacuum trucks from 500 gallon to 7000 gallon vacuum trailers. He has been involved in numerous oil spill cleanup operations and is trained in hazardous waste and emergency response operations. He is familiar with and has been trained in the proper procedures for confined space entry.
Thomas Giles - Geologist
B.S., Geology/Biology, 1982 University of Rochester, Rochester, New York
This degree provided Tom with a firm foundation for environmental work and includes a strong education in Geology, Chemistry and the Life Sciences. He is instrumental in the preparation of Subsurface Investigation Reports in conjunction with Groundwater Remediation and Emergency Spill Response. Tom performs Phase 1, 2 and 3 Site Evaluation. Tom also reviews raw data and draws up necessary reports for all phases of environmental work.
Randle Jones
Randle has been operating tractor trailers for over 20 years. He joined the Eggan Excavating family just over 5 years ago. He is qualified as a technician, heavy equipment operator and vehicle operator.
Jonathan Jones
Jonathan has 7 years of experience with Eggan Excavating. He is able to operate and maintain all equipment and vehicles available. Jonathan is qualified to provide supervisor, technician or operator support in all areas of Eggan Excavating.
MIchael Dupont
Michael was an over the road Tractor Trailer driver for over 25 years before joining us at Eggans 3 years ago. Since his arrival, he has become our Primary Environmental Spill Technician. Michael can also respond to septic and sewer service calls. He can provide assistance in all areas of Eggan Excavating.
